Sandsend is a charming village 3 miles north of Whitby on the North Yorkshire Coast. As its name implies it has a large sandy beach which
consistantly wins 'Good Beach' awards. The Est beck that runs through the south of the village is frequently dammed at the beach providing
a safe paddling pool for youngsters and boats.
The village retains its history well and is a very desirable location. It has a friendly pub, two hotels, three cosy cafes, a village shop and post office
and is otherwise untouched by most of the modern world.
Sandsend hugs the shore on the edge of the Mulgrave Estate, which contains Mulgrave Castle and Gardens which are open on certain days of the
week. The coast north of Sandsend is known as 'Dinosaur Coast' and its geological make-up mean that Jurassic age fossils can be easily seen.
